Auto title loans are often marketed as quick financial solutions but frequently become high-cost debt traps for vulnerable consumers. This session will examine how bankruptcy courts interpret title loan agreements and the implications for debtors seeking relief under Chapter 13. Attendees will gain insights into the legal strategies used by title lenders, the impact of state pawnshop laws, and potential legislative solutions to protect consumers from losing their vehicles unfairly. Join us for an in-depth discussion on the intersection of bankruptcy law and predatory lending practices.
